Sophos, a global pioneer in next-generation cybersecurity, announced today the opening of its new data centre in Mumbai. Sophos Central, the cloud management platform that underpins Sophos’ range of advanced, next-generation cybersecurity products, is increasingly in demand, and the Sophos data centre provides local capacity to meet that need. The data centre also enables private and public organisations of any size to store, manage, and access data locally, allowing them to comply with local data sovereignty rules.
Sophos Extended Detection and Response (XDR), Sophos Intercept X, Intercept X for Server, Sophos Encryption, and Sophos Managed Threat Response services are among the first products and services to have access to the new data centre.
The Sophos India data centre in Mumbai is hosted by Amazon Web Services and is Sophos’ third data centre in Asia Pacific and Japan. Australia and Japan are the other two locations. “With massive digital transformation due to accelerated cloud adoption, many Indian organizations want to store their data in the country to meet data sovereignty requirements,” said Sunil Sharma, managing director of sales for India and SAARC, Sophos. “The local data center enables Sophos to address the business issues that impact cybersecurity buying decisions of these organizations. This will make it as easy as possible for customers and partners to access the best threat protection and detection and data storage options available from Sophos.”
